Worksite Labs
ABOUT
Worksite Labs is a company that provides COVID-19 testing and related services, typically focused on workplace and employee health. They offer on-site testing solutions for businesses, schools, and other organizations to help manage and prevent the spread of COVID-19, especially in environments with a large number of people.

Their services may include PCR testing, rapid antigen tests, and other health screening services, often aimed at ensuring a safe and compliant environment for employees and customers.
PROBLEM
User testing and analytics data revealed that customers were spending an excessive amount of time completing the registration process.

Specifically, users were taking longer than expected to navigate through the series of forms, and the proposed solution was to add a timer to pressure users into completing the process more quickly.
SOLUTION
My approach focused on understanding users' confusion and addressing it by eliminating unnecessary scrolling, minimizing distractions, optimizing the sequence of selections, and delaying the calendar's lock to improve the overall flow.

Taking the lead for a while

I was brought into the project to support a UX/UI designer from our client, Worksite Labs, who was leading the design efforts for their online registration system. However, the proposed design approach was steering the project in the wrong direction, with critical user experience issues being overlooked.

Recognizing the potential risks, I needed to act quickly to identify and address the flaws in the current user path. This required a combination of analytical thinking and hands-on design work to clearly articulate the problems and propose a viable solution.

Reducing scrolling to improve the flow

By switching to a button-based visual language everywhere possible, I successfully minimized scrolling, improved visual hierarchy, enabled faster decision making, reduced confusion and time spend by users by 70%.

Results

The solution was validated using TryMyUI to test both user paths—old vs. new—with a sample size of 6 users for each flow. The results were conclusive, showing clear trends in user behavior.
